Piercing–sucking insects
Piercing and sucking insects can attack the leaves, stems and grains. They may be numerous and cause significant damage. This category includes bugs, whiteflies and acarids (i.e. micromites, parasitic micro worms) ; they mostly cause damage during maturation, at the milky and dough grain-filling stages.
