A workshop was held on the 19th and 20thJanuary 2018 in Sokoto and Goroyo (Fig 1), respectively Nigeria followed by a meeting on the 21st between the Research Panel of Experts (RPoE) and the Research team at Sokoto Guest Inn hotel. The aim of the workshop was to bring together the project implementing partners (AfricaRice and NCRI), TRIMING Research Panel of Experts (RPoE) and value chain stakeholders. These stakeholders were representatives of the Agricultural Development Program, Middle RIMA Valley Irrigation Scheme (MRVIS) in SRRBDA, farmers, processors, marketers, transporters, financial service providers, local government, and the press. The workshop was designed to launch the project and share with value chain stakeholders project objectives, share responsibility where necessary and unfold the implementation plan.
